Despite Industry Scandals, Google's Parent Company Reports Growth In Ad Business

Google's parent company, Alphabet, kicked off a series of highly anticipated earnings reports in the tech industry this week. The search giant announced surging profits Monday, up 73 percent in the first quarter of 2018. Advertising revenue made up the bulk of the boost, coming in at nearly $27 billion.
