Prior to joining WBUR in March 2022, Lorenc was the IT Manager at Temple Israel of Boston, which is the largest Jewish synagogue on the East Coast.

Lorenc was an independent IT consultant for smaller companies and private individuals in Metro Boston for a few years before joining Global Enterprise Technologies Group in Waltham in 2005. GET is a global systems integrator in the secure identity space. Lorenc was the IT Manager for North and South America there until 2017.

Broadly speaking, Lorenc’s focus has been the support of mission critical IT components, systems, and networks of increasing complexity and the delivery of leading-edge IT solutions which meet evolving and increasingly sophisticated business requirements. In that context, he has evaluated technologies prior to purchasing for their support of short- and long-term IT initiatives (including enhancing business processes and system-wide standardization), budgeting impact, as well as looking after vendor relationships and the planning and operation of data centers. He and his teams have liaised between business and technical areas to achieve on-time, on-budget and on-spec project completions and have worked together to develop and deliver high-quality, dependable systems and services and strengthen both customer and inter-departmental relationships. Lorenc specializes in the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure networks using Windows Servers. He has extensive knowledge in virtualization, active directory, VoIP, data storage, disaster recovery, hybrid cloud computing, and web applications servers.

Outside of work, Lorenc enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He helps his daughters with their school work, is out swimming, skiing or biking, or is automating his house with new technology and tinkering with his car and motorcycle.

Lorenc lives in Norwell, MA with his wife and two daughters.
