Middlesex County D.A. Says Police Make Biggest Drug Bust Of The Year

Authorities in Middlesex County say they made their biggest drug seizure of the year.

Police say a nine-month investigation uncovered a drug ring that packaged cocaine and heroin in Boston and then sold it in Framingham, Natick, and other MetroWest communities.

In all they've seized about $200,000 worth of drugs, $60,000 in cash and three vehicles.

District Attorney Marian Ryan says there been 61 opioid overdose deaths in the county this year, and this bust will help keep people alive.

"That is why we invest so much time and effort in this piece of the fight in the fight against opioids," she said.

Two men from Boston face arraignment Friday on conspiracy and drug trafficking charges.
