Forecast: Sunshine Returns, Humidity Drops

Some areas, including Boston, received more than two inches of rainfall during yesterday’s storms. We certainly do need the water as we’ve been below normal in that department. Now that the front has passed, high pressure with a northwesterly flow of air is providing us with much drier air across southern New England.

This high will keep the clouds and humidity away for the remainder of the week. As the high moves to our east, the return southerly flow will bring back the mugginess and the risk for showers and thunderstorms later in the weekend.

Looking ahead, next weeks pattern is not looking all that spectacular. We will be on the western periphery of the Bermuda high, which will remain in place for several days. This means our weather will again go back to being humid with frequent periods of showers and possible thunderstorms.

Wednesday: Early clouds, then becoming mostly sunny. Decreasing humidity. Highs in the lower 80s.

Wednesday Night: Clear skies, cooler. Lows in the lower 60s.

Thursday: Sunny and pleasant. High of 78.

Friday, Saturday: Mostly sunny and dry. Highs in the lower 80s.

Sunday: Increasing clouds, more humidity. Showers developing. High of 77.
