Ukraine has been attacking Russia’s oil refineries, but the U.S. has criticized those attacks, saying they could raise global energy prices.

Here & Now's Asma Khalid speaks with Lauri Myllyvirta, who argues that the attacks are not impacting energy prices. He is the lead analyst at the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air, a research organization in Finland. He and colleagues wrote the piece “Why Ukraine should keep striking Russian oil refineries” in Foreign Affairs.

This segment aired on June 5, 2024.
