The Boston Celtics beat the Dallas Mavericks at a raucous TD Garden in Massachusetts to clinch the NBA championship on Monday night. It is a record 18th win for the Celtics; no team has won as many titles.

The Celtics took the series 4-1, with key contributions from several star players, including Jaylen Brown. He earned the finals MVP trophy, named for Celtics legend Bill Russell.

For more on the victory, host Scott Tong walks with A. Sherrod Blakely, NBA columnist and Boston University lecturer.

This segment aired on June 18, 2024.
