Boston is known as the birthplace of the American Revolution and nothing beats celebrating the country's birthday in this city. From eating a hot dog next to the Samuel Adams statue to giving a nod at Paul Revere's house in the North End or taking a stroll up Bunker Hill, there are plenty of ways to tip your hat to history.

If you want to go all out, the iconic Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular will take place on the Esplanade beginning at 8 p.m., with headlining performances from R&B and soul singer Darlene Love and Broadway star Kelli O'Hara.
