Naomi Westwater says folk music doesn't always reflect the presence and stories artists of color have to tell.

So they're on a mission to reclaim folk music and make space for people themselves.

Westwater, whose new song "Oh But Nothing is The Same" will be released on May 3, told Radio Boston what that reclamation means and why it matters.

This segment aired on May 2, 2024.
