Jasper White, one of Boston's best known chefs, has died. Friends confirmed his passing over the weekend, according to the Boston Globe. White would have been 70 this year.

White helped define fine dining in Boston and then re-invented himself later in his career, opening the popular Summer Shack seafood restaurant chain.

Radio Boston revisits a conversation it had with White back in 2011 about how he wanted to help people reimagine summertime cooking.

This segment aired on May 13, 2024.
