Resume

Two tunnel projects — one imminent, the other far from realization — are in the spotlight in Massachusetts. The upcoming month-long shutdown of the Sumner Tunnel will put even more strain on the MBTA's tight operating budget. Meanwhile, leaders like U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton are calling for investment in a rail tunnel to connect North and South Stations.

Radio Boston talks with Chris Dempsey of the urban design firm Speck Dempsey, as well as Jarred Johnson, executive director of the advocacy group TransitMatters.

This segment aired on July 2, 2024.
